Nikon has recently released its latest Coolpix S80. It features a 14.1-megapixel sensor, a 5x optical zoom and ISO up to 6400, the S80 rocks a 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen for easy tap-control of settings and imaging. There’s also built-in filters such as a fisheye, colour splash and a 7cm macro mode. It comes in red or black finishes.

The Nikon Coolpix S80 has 16.5mm thick, it’s also one of the slimmest compacts on the market. The Touch Shutter functionality allows snappers to focus and take a picture or video by simply touching the screen. You can even use the touch function to edit, annotate or draw on top of your stills. Just like its P7000 stablemate, the S80 records 720p HD video and has an HDMI out. It will cost for £329.99

Pentax has announced its latest mid-level dSLR camera, named Pentax K-r. It packs 12.4MP CMOS image sensor and can be installed with Pentax K, KA, KAF, KAF2 and KAF3 lens. It comes with a 3-inch display, slot for SD/SDHC memory card, image stabilization systems, and DR (Dust Removal) mechanism that provides to shake dust off the CMOS image sensor.

The Pentax K-r dSLR camera has maximum image resolution of 4288 x 2848 pixels and supports recording video in HD 720p resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at 25 frames per second. It offers high-speed continuous shooting at approximately six images per second, up to ISO 25600 sensitivity, and 30-1/6000 shutter speed range. digital SLR camera is available in three color options – white, black, and red. It will be available next month and has price of £599.99 (Pentax K-r + 18-55mm DAL) or £699.99 (Pentax K-r + 18-55mm DAL + 50-200mm DAL).

A new simple point and shoot cam with controls of a DSLR has recently been introduced by Nikon, called Coolpix P700. It can record video clips with 720p resolution at 24 frames per second and allows users to autofocus and zoom while recording.

The Coolpix P700 even records audio with the help of an external microphone, if connected to a mic input jack.It features a 10.1-megapixel sensor in the camera with a 28-200mm zoom range for its lens, and an ISO of up to 6400. It costs US$499.95.

Nikon has officially announced its newews DSLR camera, the Nikon D3100. It has a 14.2 megapixel sensor, but it’s light settings that make the headlines here – with an ISO going up to a staggering 12,800 for superb shots in low light.

With a 3inch LCD screen, this Nikon D3100 has new video autofocus system that tracks subjects and adjusts contrast. Video is handled at 1080p at 24fps, or can be reduced to 720p. It will be available at the end of September and cost £499.99 for body only and £579.99 with an 18-55mm lens.

Nikon has finally unveiled its new compact camera that has an integrated projector, known as Coolpix S1100pj projector camera. It can connect to your PC via USB and project whatever is on your computer screen. The built-in projector is capable of throwing an image of up to 47-inches from over 7-feet away. The camera will be available in September for $349.95 in several colors.

The new Coolpix S1100pj projector camera has 40% more brightness using a 14-lumen internal projector with a built-in stand and a touchscreen interface. Casio has announced its two new digital cameras, the EX-S200 and EX-Z800. Panasonic has officially announced its latest compact wondercam, known as Panasonic Lumix LX5. It comes with HDMI out, a 24mm wide-angle Leica lens, 3.8 optical zoom and a 10.1MP sensor. It takes DSLR features and packs them into a compact body. The LX5 can also handle full HD video clips, recording to AVCHD Lite. You’ll also get a whopping 400 shots from a single charge. There is a rumor that Nikon will announce its newest models at Photokina and named D3100. It will have some interesting new features such as Continuous autofocus in video mode, a new autofocus configuration covering the majority of the viewfinder, HD Video (1080p and 720p), in-camera video editing and expected to come as a kit, with an 18-55mm lens. The cost and release date have not been reported.

Two Sony’s DSLR cameras, Sony NEX-5s and NEX-3 get updated with 3D. With an extra 3D option should mean stunning extra-wide images that you can enjoy on any 3D-compatible display, such as a 3D Bravia. Cameras shipped with Version 02 firmware or higher are already updated with the new features.
